An S.Q. officer, responding to an emergency, lost control of her cruiser and drove off the road in the Laurentien community of St. Ambroise de Kildare earlier tonight

The officer is in critical condition in hospital.

She was alone in the car at the time of the accident and no other vehicles were involved.

Investigators are trying to determine the circumstances behind the accident.
