A 23 year old Surete du Quebec police officer has died of her injuries after losing control of her patrol car while responding to an emergency call.

The police officer has been identified as Katia Hadouchi, who had been with the force for only two-years.

The accident happened in  Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare in the Lanaudière at around 7pm last night.

The officer was alone in the vehicle at the time.

Sûreté du Québec accident investigators were at the crash site this morning trying to determine what may have happened.
