Former transport minister Pierre Moreau has become the second official candidate in the race to succeed Jean Charest as Quebec Liberal leader.

Moreau made the announcement this morning in his Montreal-area riding of Chateauguay.

Moreau was accompanied by several Liberal members of the National Assembly.

He joins former finance minister Raymond Bachand in the race, while ex-health minister Philippe Couillard is expected to announce his candidacy on Wednesday.
