Drug raid puts dent in Montérégie trade
A series of drug raids has taken out a lucrative drug trafficking operation.
The Joint Regional Monteregie Street Gang squad, along with the Surete du Quebec, Longueuil Police and the Richilieu-Saint Laurent force carried out coordinated raids at three homes in Chambly, Marieville and Saint Basile-le-Grand last Friday.
14-people were arrested including the leader of the operation.
Police seized 1.3-million dollars worth of methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as a vehicle and 40-thousand dollars in cash.
They've also dismantled a drug lab.
All of the accused face charges related to the manufacture possession and distribution of drugs.
Four of the 14 people arrested remain in police custody.
