Police have surrounded a home on Martin Street in Longueuil this morning.

One person was injured after a botched home invasion that deteriorated into a hostage taking.

Police were called just before 10:00am to the home on Martin, just behind the bar Le Vegas.

When they arrived police found one person with minor injuries, who was taken to hospital.

They were then told that another person was inside the house, possibly armed and possibly with a hostage.

A security perimeter and a command post have been set up in the area.
