A busy night for Montreal police as they dealt with three separate stabbings Friday evening and overnight.

A man in his 20s was stabbed several times in the upper body near the corner of Ste. Catherine and Drummond Sts. at around 9 Friday evening. Police say a fight between two groups of youths led to the stabbing. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, but his condition stabilized overnight.

Police have met with several witnesses, but have so far made no arrests.

Within the hour, a 44-year-old man was stabbed in a bar at the corner of Ste. Catherine and Valois Sts. in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district. Again, the victim suffered several stab wounds to the upper body and is now in stable condition in hospital.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in that case.

Meantime, a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body at a bar on Newman Blvd. in Lasalle just before closing time Saturday morning. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police have no suspects in that case.
