Montreal cop opens fire on knife-wielding man
A man is recovering in hospital after being shot by police.
It happened in Lasalle around 11 p.m. Sunday at a home for the mentally ill on 44th avenue.
Police were called to the home for a missing person's case. But once the officers arrived, the missing person in question showed up soon after.
The officers were speaking with the man when suddenly he pulled out a knife and charged towards the officers.
"At this time one of the police officers shot the 28-year-old man in the lower body," says Surete du Quebec spokesperson Ronald McKinnis. "He was transported to hospital but he is going to be okay."
One of the cops was also taken to hospital for shock.
The case is now being handled by the SQ.
