Pierrefonds-Roxboro encourages carpooling

There are carpooling apps, paid programs that link like minded commuters to their destination and now Pierrefonds-Roxboro has become the first Montreal borough that has launched a website to bring solo commuters together   Mayor Monique Worth is thinking forward, to the day when the Turcotte will be rebuilt.  She says what with the new reserved bus lanes on St. John's, Congestion on highway 20, and more sidewalks and roads being torn up downtown, it's time to get a few cars off the road.

"When you're driving, you see a lot of one person vehicles."

Worth says interested parties can sign up for the carpool on the Pierrefonds-Roxboro website.....you can be either an interested driver who wants people to join in your car .

"Or you can be looking for a ride, either in the borough or outside of the borough.  To the metro, downtown, or anywhere."

 The program is free.
