Arrests in teen kidnapping on West Island
Montreal police have nabbed two suspects in the abduction and beating of a teenager in Lachine yesterday.
The arrests were made in the south-west borough around 8 o'clock Tuesday evening.
Two 17-year-old young men are now being questioned by investigators.
Police say other arrests may be imminent.
"The investigators are looking for two other men that were involved in the abduction and assault that occured on the 17-year-old teenager," says spokesman Daniel Lacoursiere.
Police say the suspects are well-known to them, possibly from street gang circles.
On Tuesday morning the victim was allegedly kidnapped near the intersection of 45th avenue and Victoria in Lachine. He was forced into a van, beaten, and then dumped on a residential street in Dorval.
He suffered injuries to the upper body, but has since been released from hospital.
Police would not say if the victim and suspects know one another.
