NHL cancels more regular-season games

The National Hockey League is cancelling another batch of regular-season games.

The league says all games through Nov. 1 have been scrubbed due to the absence of a collective bargaining agreement with the NHL Players' Association.

The players have been locked out for over a month.

The league had already cancelled the first two weeks of the regular season.

The initial cancellation wiped 82 games off the schedule, that number is now up to 135.

Both sides exchanged proposals this week in Toronto but no new talks are scheduled.

You know what? Why don't they just go ahead and cancel the whole season again.

Rich people fighting over money. Meanwhile, they don't care a lick for the other people whose lives are hurt by this kind of raw greed.

In the last lockout, a friend of mine almost lost his business because he depended on the business that hockey brings.

Bettman is continually trying to hoard the money for himself and the owners. Oh no, it's not an across the board salary rollback so games can be more affordable to the average joe... oh no. This is owners trying to grab more of the pie for themselves.

Bettman says "you used to have 57%, we were okay with that but not anymore. How about 43%" and the players go "say what? No!" so Bettman says "how about 50/50. Who can refuse 50/50" and now paints the players as being the bad guy.

All along it's been Bettman and his greedy band.

    Shame on them all.

I hope they cancel the season and that someone else starts up a new league to compete with the NHL.

When Bettman is the only game in town, he's holding all the cards.

If there was another league... fans could still enjoy hockey while showing Bettman what they really think by voting with their dollars.

The kind of greed this guy has been displaying is absolutely outrageous.

One of the worst things about the hockey lock out is that there should not be one. People that are making millions of dollars should not be on strike. Many families across the globe are struggling to make end meet. Many business owners are struggling to maintain profitability. I do side with the owners because they have all of the fixed costs. My personal opinion is the players make enough money and should not share in the revenues. It would be great if many businesses did the same but this is the world of sports not the world of reality. A lack of Leadership is very obvious and if I have a choice just like the owners and players they can Kiss my business goodbye until Sept 2013. That assuming someone in both camps come to their senses and stops punishing the people that provide them with revenues. I won’t hold my breath and neither should you so join the movement of fans on strike and channel your hard earned cash to any sport that appreciates you as a fan. That’s my two cent what’s yours?
