A 51-year-old woman is dead after she was hit by a school bus in Montreal's east end Friday afternoon.

It happened around the noon hour at the corner of De Charette and Du Quesne Sts.

The bus driver was trying to turn onto Du Quesne, when the woman was hit.

She was rushed to hospital, where she died shortly after.

There was no one, but the driver, on the bus at the time.
