Montreal taken over by zombies

For some Montrealers, Halloween came a little early.

On Saturday afternoon, hundreds of them gathered at the Place des Festivals in downtown Montreal for the annual Zombie Walk, which, according to the event's billing on its Facebook page, is "a kind of flash mob where a bunch of people show up somewhere done up like zombies and then walk around moaning and whatnot. It's good times."

The event usually draws a ragtag mix of people who like playing dressup, as well as horror and video game fans.

The march began at 3 p.m., and then made its way south from the Place des Festivals, down to Old Montreal and then back up again, ending at Club Katacombes, at the corner of St. Laurent Blvd. and Ontario St., for an after-party.
