Projet Montreal walks out of city council
The seats at the far end of council chambers reserved for Projet Montreal were empty, as the remaining councillors debated anti-corruption measures and party financing changes proposed by the the Mayor's Party.
Projet Montreal leader Richard Bergeron said they won't support this sham, saying the other two parties aren't credible.
"We will not play in this real masquerade that will last for the next thirty-five, forty minutes. I don't know where they will accuse each other."
Vision Montreal leader Louise Harel brushed off comparisons to the Mayor's Union Montreal Party, calling Projet Montreal's actions a publicity stunt.
"I think that it's a game play."
The Mayor meantime, didn't back down, refusing to resign.
