People not happy with wireless service
It appears some people aren't all that happy with their cellphone or Internet service.
Consumer complaints in the telecommunications industry rose 35% last year. Most of the complaints had to do with billing errors or contract disputes related to telephone services and internet access.
CJAD's tech analyst Carmi Levy says we have been seeing increases like this for five years in a row.
"The fact that they have gone up 35% over the last year suggests that the industry is not doing a very good job in addressing consumer complaints and issues. They really need to double-down on their customer service and so far, they're not."
He says we've been seeing high levels of dissatisfaction in wireless services globally, but Canada seems to be fairly unique in that it has been getting worse over the years.
And while prices may be higher here, Levy believes Canadians wouldn't mind all that much if they were getting value for their money.
