Liberals should apologize to Quebec: PQ
The Parti Quebecois is demanding the Liberals apologize to the public for their past refusal to hold a public inquiry.
One minister says the Liberals let bandits do their dirty work, and cost the taxpayers millions.
"We're going to keep on asking them to be accountable for this because they should be ashamed for what they did," says Bernard Drainville, minister for democratic institutions.
The premier also says it's very disappointing that the Liberals have refused to apologize so far.
"They did not make the decisions at the opportune time," says Pauline Marois. "They are partly responsible for what's happening."
Liberals respond
Liberal MNA Marc Carrière say the PQ resorting to partisan accusations, rather than moving to attack corruption.
He says the anti-corruption unit, UPAC, is behind the police searches in Laval, and the arrests of Lino Zambito and the mayor of Mascouche. "What's more, the PQ criticized UPAC's creation," says Carrière.
Zamibito has also testified that collusion ended after the creation of the police squad Opperation Hammer.
