Montreal police say two bodies were found inside a burning car in Park Extension this morning.

A police spokesman says they were alerted by several 911 calls around mid-morning that a car was on fire at D'Anvers and Champagneur. 

This man lives on Champagneur.

"Nine O'Clock, I was phoning the kids. I see a black smoke coming passed to the window," he said. "I said I have to go see what happened. I go in the front and I see a car stopped, fire already."

Spokesman Daniel Lacoursiere says the two charred bodies were discovered after firefighters put out the flames.

Police have not yet identified the victims and the cause of the fire isn't known.
