SEE UPDATE HERE
Spending is up and so are taxes and in both cases the city has been unable to hold increases to the rate of inflation.
The City of Montreal unveiled a $4.9 Billion budget this morning.
The residential tax rate will go up an average 2.2 percent, but with the special water tax contribution it will mean an overall increase of 3.3 percent or an extra $107 per property owner.
