Hydro Quebec crews to help New Hampshire

Posted By: Trudie Mason · 10/31/2012 11:16:00 AM

A small army of Hydro Quebec repair technicians is hitting the road for New Hampshire, where tens of thousands of homes and businesses had their power cut by super-storm Sandy.

Fifty Hydro Quebec technicians have been repairing line breaks in Vermont since Monday.  Their work there is now finished, so they are heading for New Hampshire, to join another 150 Hydro employees who'll be leaving Quebec today and tomorrow.

Hydro Quebec spokesman Yvan Cliche says it is too early to say how long the crews will be needed in the U.S.

Hydro Quebec has mutual aid agreements with a number of American utilities, which pay the salaries and expenses of the crews they borrow from Quebec.

these Hydro Guys are heroes and will be much appreciated for their help in Vermont. Already back after the Icestorm their skills and dedication was awesome and they deserve a great Thank you from all. And you know... to their Vermonter Collegues working on top of a Hydro mast it did not matter what language they spoke, somehow they understood each other and were able to repair the damages Take this as a hint Pauline.....

Why attack Palin on this? I'm french canadien and been living in different places in USA for the last 12 years.... I never heard anything coming from Palin's mouth the would suggest the hates Canadians (or any other nationality). In fack Alaskans are bounded to canadians by the fact that by land, to go to Alaska to mainland USA,you have to travel through Canada.
It's a shame that you would use an occasion like this to attack Palin who in fack his much more woried about her fellow americains and less about herself then any democrats around.... How's Obama's visit to NJ is helping them? absolutly not... in fack Bush had the decensy to not visit New Orleans when Katrina hit because he understood that when the President is going somewhere, it mobilise enourmous assets that are much needed elsewhere in times like this... that is the reason why the autorties in NY refused to have Obama visit them.....

@Martin Pauline, not Palin. Learn to read before writing.
