Hydro Quebec crews to help New Hampshire
A small army of Hydro Quebec repair technicians is hitting the road for New Hampshire, where tens of thousands of homes and businesses had their power cut by super-storm Sandy.
Fifty Hydro Quebec technicians have been repairing line breaks in Vermont since Monday. Their work there is now finished, so they are heading for New Hampshire, to join another 150 Hydro employees who'll be leaving Quebec today and tomorrow.
Hydro Quebec spokesman Yvan Cliche says it is too early to say how long the crews will be needed in the U.S.
Hydro Quebec has mutual aid agreements with a number of American utilities, which pay the salaries and expenses of the crews they borrow from Quebec.
