Montreal police say security should be parents top priority on this Halloween night.   They've put out a top ten list, in collaboration with the Missing Children's Network.

Constable Raphael Bergeron says the ideal time for trick or treating is between 4:30 and 8:30, "because it gets dark so early.  Then we'll have cloud cover, which will make for an even darker walk.

Bergeron reminds trick or treaters to wear short costumes to avoid tripping, wear makeup and not a mask, use a flashlight, don't zigzag across the street, do one side then the other, little ones should be accompanied by older siblings parents or grandparents, and should never go inside a stranger's home.
