An investigation is underway following a fire in the southwest part of Montreal Thursday evening.

"At about 6 pm, police officers got a call, on the scene of a fire on St Jacques near Lacasse. A woman, possibly in her 50's, she hasn't been identified yet. She was taken to hospital, considered in a critical condition. Now, we don't know the exact cause of this fire, but the possibility that it's accidental is something we're looking into", police spokesperson Anie Lemieux told CJAD News.

Flames broke out in a triplex.
