	Laval will have a new mayor today Posted By: Laura Casella lcasella@astral.com · 11/23/2012 7:13:00 AM Residents of Laval find out today who will be taking the top job at their city hall. City councillors will meet at noon today to hold a secret vote. There are two candidates in the race. They are Alexandre Duplesis and Jacques St-Jean. The new mayor will be sworn in immediately after the vote. This person takes over from former mayor Gilles Vaillancourt who resigned about two weeks ago amid a storm of controversy.
