New support for Phillippe Couillard's leadership bid
Philippe Couillard is showing off some new support for his bid for the provincial Liberal leadership candidacy.
MNA for Vimont Jean Roucelle is throwing his support behind the former health minister. Couillard says he also has support from other quarters of Laval.
The race to replace Jean Charest is tight. Some party sources say Couillard has a slight advantage.
That's prompted some attacks by at least one of his rivals.
During this weekend's congress of the party's youth wing, Raymond Bachand accused Couillard of plotting to overthrow Charest in 2007, something Couillard has denied. The two buried the hatchet at the end of the congress.
