Charbonneau Commission told of intimidation
Former construction entrepreneur Piero Di Iorio told a wild story of intimidation and car chases, racing through the streets of Montreal, a competitor in hot pursuit, to put in a bid on a municipal contract at Montreal City Hall.
Di Iorio said he had been warned that the project he had wanted to bid on was for someone else.
When the competitor whose job it was supposed to be finally rammed Di Iorio's vehicle, he climbed out of a side window. He finally made it to City Hall where he tabled his bid.
Di Iorio, who recently went out of business, says he only ever got three public contracts in Montreal.
