St-Remi mayor, son arrested by UPAC

UPAC the anti-corruption squad carried out early morning raids in south shore St. Rémi this morning.

Three people were arrested  including the Mayor Michel Lavoie, his son Sébastien and a family friend, and the owner of Dorais Construction, Dominic Dorias.

The three face a total of 17 charges including fraud and conspiracy in connection with zoning bylaw changes related to the bidding and construction of a senior's home and a fire station.

All three remain in custody and are currently being questioned at Surete du Quebec headquarters but they should be released later today.

    it looks like the UPAC smells the rats...and the rats are not fast enough to leave the sinking ship......

    It's about time. Repose their homes, empty their bank accounts and those of their spouses and send them to jail. POINT FINAL
