St-Remi mayor, son arrested by UPAC
UPAC the anti-corruption squad carried out early morning raids in south shore St. Rémi this morning.
Three people were arrested including the Mayor Michel Lavoie, his son Sébastien and a family friend, and the owner of Dorais Construction, Dominic Dorias.
The three face a total of 17 charges including fraud and conspiracy in connection with zoning bylaw changes related to the bidding and construction of a senior's home and a fire station.
All three remain in custody and are currently being questioned at Surete du Quebec headquarters but they should be released later today.
