NRA calls Newtown murders horrific

The National Rifle Association in the United States is breaking its silence on the school shootings that killed 20 children and six adults in Newtown, Connecticut.

The powerful gun rights organization says its members are shocked, saddened and heartbroken by what it calls ``the horrific and senseless murders.''

The N-R-A pledges to help make sure it never happens again and has scheduled a news conference for Friday.

Ask yourselves this, .... is the world a crazier place because there's more crazy people? Or are there more crazy people because the world's a crazier place to live?
With all anti-depressants, nukes, violent games and movies, wars, terrorists, millions of people with millions of guns everywhere, overpopulation, global warming, end of the world day, you can't live a minute without learning about a new crime being committed, what do you expect the NRA to say?
Its the crazies out there that did this, not the gun's fault. However, because of the so many crazies out there, maybe its time we keep guns away from them.
How do we do this now after millions of guns are already out there, I don't know. But it sure seems like its too little too late. Now we must just go for the ride and hope for the best. We idiots must now suffer the consequences.
Good luck and hope to see you on the other side!

@Leo The deaths by gunfire only highlight a bigger problem which is why do these people hate those around them so much to want to do these crimes. Until we know this and correct it nothing will change and to say fewer people would have died if the assailant had only a knife is to diminish the value of human life.
There is no reason for any member of the public however to own an assault rifle.

These are the same people that spend millions of dollars supporting politicians that support war. The emperor has no clothes.

The second amendment was created in 1791 when you needed a gun to protect you home kill your food and repel the British. In 1791 you had a musket not an assault rifle with a clip of 100 bullets. If you need a bushmaster or an aka 47 assault rifle or any kind of rapid fire to hunt you have a a problem. You are the worst hunter in the world and should take up wood working. There was a ban on assault weapons by Bill Clinton but good old Mr. Bush let the law expire and he did not renew the law .
There are no need for assault rifle at all , you do not need clips for a hundred bullets but it will be very interesting was the N.R.A will have to contribute.
