Provincial police car stolen, then found

It's not something you hear about often.

A provincial police patrol car was stolen this morning.

It happened while two officers answered a call about a domestic dispute in the Lanaudiere community of l'Epiphanie, north of Montreal.

A 39-year old man ran out and took off in the car when police arrived at the residence.

The vehicle was eventually found not far away.

The thief, who's known to police, is still on the run.

Authorities say it's a matter of time before he's caught.

Guess the thief was not impressed with the Dodge Charger. Had it been the venerable Ford Crown Victoria, he would still be cruising around.

He did not steal it. He borrowed it. It is public property and he only took it for a minute. Is there a law against using public transportation?
