Sidewalks in N.D.G. still not clear

It's been a week since the historic snow storm blanketed Montreal, and the borough of N.D.G. is struggling to dig out of the mess.

"We're not impressed"

That's what people are saying about the situation on the streets in N.D.G., with piles of snow still covering sidewalks.

"This is kind of ridiculous how this is." said one resident.

Another woman said "When I'm watching the elderly, when I'm pulling them out of a snowbank, I think it's atrocious."

Borough spokesperson Michel Therrien says they're at the half-way mark, but they're still having problems.

"They put the snow on the sidewalk, and at some point our machinery is inefficient to remove that"

Meantime the city hopes to have the majority of streets and sidewalks cleaned by Sunday.

In VSL on Rue St-Charles Marette and Werbrouck they still haven't cleaned one side of the road yet alone the sidewalks. Ever since the one island one city this area has been neglected. Used to be one of the better areas. Montreal took all ville saint laurents equipments to work in other areas. Yet the city takes more taxes every year
