Habs to hold news conference today

Canadiens owner Geoff Molson will meet the media this afternoon at 4 o'clock, along with his general manager Marc Bergevin and coach Michel Therrien.

CJAD will have live coverage of the news conference from the Habs' training facility in Brossard.

They'll all be answering questions from reporters ahead of a shortened NHL season. The contract status of defenceman P.K. Subban is expected to be near the top of the list.

Earlier today, deputy NHL commissioner Bill Daly dropped a strong hint that the earliest the season would start would be on Saturday, January 19, and that it would be a 48-game season.

That was how long the season was in 1994-95, when the first of Gary Bettman's three NHL lockouts was resolved in mid-season.
