No answers in Rwandan Montrealer's death
The tragic death of a young woman almost a year ago still remains a mystery.
An autopsy has concluded there was no foul play in the death of 26-year-old Clemence Umugwaneza. The Rwandan native went missing January 11 last year after leaving her Cartierville home for an evening walk with her iPod. About six weeks later, her body was found floating in the St. Lawrence River near Louiseville, 115 kilometres northeast of Montreal.
The coroner says he found no traces of drugs or alcohol or any marks of violence on the body. The cause of death was likely hypothermia after being in the water for awhile.
Umugwaneza had no history of running away, depression or suicidal tendencies.
