City says the snow's almost all gone
The City of Montreal reports it had completed 98 percent of all snow clearing and removal operations by mid-morning, and that only three boroughs -- Saint-Laurent, Verdun and Lasalle -- were still working on it. But the city says they too will have completed their snow operations by tomorrow morning.
Some residents in Lasalle who spoke with CJAD News earlier in the day will wait to see it with their own eyes.
Residents of Thierry street, particularly, were puzzled as to why, thirteen days after the storm that walloped the city on December 27, their side of the street was still buried under mounds of snow up to five feet high.
Some of those we spoke with blame the mergers, and sais things were better when Lasalle was its own municipality.
The city, meantime, insists that all its snow operations objectives have been met, but that there will be meetings in the days to come to discuss any possible improvements.
