Montreal police are asking the public's help in trying to locate a 46-year-old man who they believe sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman in downtown Montreal Saturday afternoon.

46-year-old Christopher Norman Jost is also wanted by Canadian correctional authorities on a Canada-wide warrant.

Police say on Saturday at around 3:30 in the afternoon, the young woman was taking pictures of a church near the corner of Ste. Catherine and Bishop streets. The suspect, who had the keys to the building, pulled her inside and dragged her into the church's basement, where he forced her to touch him before letting her go.

Jost is 6’2’’ and weighs 220 pounds. He has blue eyes and short blond hair. He speaks both French and English. At the time of the assault, he was wearing a short light-colored jacket. Police say he also limps, and may get around with a cane, or with the help of adapted transit.

They also suggest he may spend time in the downtown area or Chinatown, and that he's unstable emotionally and may be aggressive.

Anyone with information on Jost's whereabouts is being asked to phone 9-1-1, or to phone Info-Crime at 514-939-1133.
