Premature baby going home
Not too long ago, the baby never would have had a chance.
But this week, four months after her premature birth Amelia Lefebvre is going home.
She weighed 375 grams at birth which is less than a pound and is one of the smallest smallest surviving premature babies ever born in Canada.
She now weighs about two kilos or a little over four pounds
Amelia was 14-weeks premature and Dr. Apostolos Papageorgiou, Chief of Pediatrics and Neonatology at the Jewish General Hospital says credit for Amelia`s survival goes to the nursing staff who provided 24-hour a day care.
