Former head of MUHC in hospital
Arthur Porter is in hospital in the Bahama's.
Porter hasn't been seen or heard from since quitting as head of the MUHC in 2011 amid a storm of controversy.
But in a statement Porter has announced he has cancer and has been admitted to hospital.
The press release did not say what kind of cancer he has, only that it was a “newly discovered malignancy.”
Porter will receive radiotherapy and chemotherapy at the private clinic he owns in Nassau.
Porter is being sued by McGill University for failing to repay 300 thousand in loans.
