The Public Health Institute of Quebec has found that 619-patients died as a result of contracting C.difficile last year

That's the highest number of deaths recorded in the past six years.

C difficle is a common and stubborn bacteria that is often present in hospitals.
It can cause severe diarrhea and inflammation of the colon.

The elderly and people receiving long-term care are most commonly affected.
