Former MUHC CEO Arthur Porter speaks out
The former CEO of the M-U-H-C says it's a vindictive campaign against him.
Dr. Arthur Porter is speaking out following a spending scandal at the new superhospital.
According to a report, he broke his silence by doing an interview with a newspaper in the Bahamas, where he now lives.
The report quotes him as saying he's largely reponsible for the hospital's construction and that it couldn't be built prior to his coming to Montreal.
He's also quoted as saying he stayed on as CEO because he was asked by the board.
Porter claims he stepped down because of business interests in the Bahamas, where he owns a cancer clinic.
There's word he's being treated for an undisclosed cancer.
