Snowmobile safety week has begun in Quebec.

Officials say seven snowmobilers have died so far this winter, that alcohol could be a factor in more than half the cases.

The Snowmobilers Association is urging enthusiasts to be very careful, that they should reduce their speed and stay on marked trails.

A 55-year old snowmobiler died Friday night in the Lower St Lawrence.

Police say he struck a moose.
