Police in Montreal and Laval are investigating a couple of violent home invasions.

At around 8 o'clock Monday evening, Montreal police say several suspects stormed into the home of a 51-year-old man on Bourbonniere street in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. They beat him with a blunt object and left.

Police say the victim is known to them and believe the incident is drug-related.

The man was taken to hospital but doctors don't fear for his life.

As for the suspects, police don't yet have a clear description of them.

Meanwhile, in Laval, four suspects are sought in connection to a home invasion on chemin St-Antoine. It happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday.

They tied up three people inside, a father and his two sons, and took off with cash.

The father was also hit in the head with a metal bar, but his injuries are not serious. His children were not hurt.

Police don't have any suspects in custody. They were black males wearing ski masks.

The father is also known to police.
