Icy roads south of Montreal
A 20-kilometre stretch of Hwy. 10 westbound was closed for several hours this afternoon, because of icy road conditions and a number of minor accidents.
As temperatures plunged below freezing last night and this morning, a lot of black ice formed on a number of roadways south of the city, including Hwys. 15 and 30, and some other secondary roads.
Several minor accidents were reported late in the morning and early in the afternoon. A number of people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The SQ is urging motorists traveling in the area to exercise caution and reduce their speed, because the black ice is still out there.
