Quebecers caught in Mexican dragnet

A police dragnet on Mexico's Mayan Riviera has reportedly snagged some Quebecers.

The Mexican newspaper Por Esto! reports that two cars, one bearing a Canadian license plate, were intercepted in the parking lot of a nightclub called Chilly Willy's in Playa del Carmen.

In the glove compartment of one of the cars, police found three guns.

Two people were arrested: 25-year old Daniel Selcer and 50-year old Stewart Goldstein.

Three Quebecers in the other vehicle were questioned and released.

Mexican police were apparently keeping an eye on the nightclub because it is a known hang-out for members of Los Zetas, one of the country's notorious warring drug cartels.

I'm sure they were merely innocent victims of overly zealous Mexican police and will be crying to the Canadian consulate for tax payer funded assistance .
