Bain decision expected today
It has taken three separate court appearances but a judge is expected to finally be able to rule today on whether Richard Henry Bain is mentally competent to stand trial on 16-charges including first degree murder.
Bain is the suspect in the shooting outside the Parti Quebecois election rally at the Metropolis last September that left one man dead and another wounded.
The ruling last week was delayed because the judge wanted to question the psychiatrist who wrote the assessment but she was sick.
Previous hearing were delayed because Bain had insisted on being questioned by an anglophone doctor and had asked for a translated version of the assessment.
