Hydro Quebec expects record breaking day

Hydro Quebec expects to be pushed to the limit today as Quebec deals with the coldest day of the season so far.

Environment Canada is calling for a high of just minus 21-degrees with a wind chill of minus 33-degrees

The utility is asking everyone to try to reduce electricity consumption during the peak morning period from 6am to9am and again between 4pm and 8pm and again between 6am and 9am Thursday.

It means lowering the thermostat, limiting the use of washers, dryers and dishwashers and limiting the use of hot wate when you can.

Hydro Quebec estimates that given the forecast it may set a new record for electricity demand today.

The windmills are working wonders in Clinton county Usa.. Hydro won't be selling their power there anymore. They have loads of trees big trees. They haven't missed electricity at all this year... This Super Quebec power Company is costing the taxpayer monies. Where are the profits that should be put back in the taxpayer pockets.. Hydro Quebec is another cash grabbing commodity by the quebec government... Like medicare give it away...
