Montrealers bundle up on coldest day
With the thermometer at -27 degrees this morning, feeling closer to -40 with the wind chill, today is a day most people wish they could stay home.
But for those who didn't have a choice, many Montrealers CJAD spoke to were taking the weather in stride.
"We won't get sick because of the cold," said one man in Verdun, "we'll take some fresh air."
"To me it doesn't matter," said another. "This is the temperature for the season. It's Canada."
But it wasn't a walk in the park for everyone.
"It's very cold, too cold," said one woman walking her dog in Verdun.
"The cold? It's deadly," said a newspaper delivery man outside Vendome metro, "especially doing my job, You got to love it."
But Montrealers were prepared for the frigid temperatures nonetheless.
"You just have to dress up warmly," said a man waiting at a bus stop.
"I am dressed warm enough,' said a commuter at the Vendome metro.
"Yes I dressed differently," said another, "I'm double dressed."
Temperatures are expected to return to normal by next week.
