Frigid temperature leads to power failures

Posted By: CJAD · 1/23/2013 11:25:00 PM

It's not a pleasant night to be without power but Hydro Quebec is reporting outages.

There are about 8 thousand clients without electricity across the province, 3 thousand on the island of Montreal, those affected mainly in east end Rosemont.

Hydro crews are working to restore the power but the utility says one of the biggest problems is over consumption. It's reminding people to reduce power use especially during peak periods.

Maybe they should be spending some of the increased prices they have been charging on improving the infrastructure. It's pathetic that they cant produce enough power, its not like frigid cold weather is something new here in the winter.
