High winds causing all sorts of problems
UPDATED
Today's firce winds have caused all kinds of problems, from power outages to blown-out windows and highway closures.
As of 11:30 p.m., Hydro-Quebec reported under 29-thousand people across the province were without power, including fewer than a hundred in Montreal.
Meanwhile, the construction site at the CHUM was cordoned off Thursday afternoon because of fears that unfastened chimneys atop the roofs of one of the buildings might topple over.
And at the Montreal courthouse, a flying piece of metal crashed through a skylight and wound up falling 20 stories, along with shards of broken glass.
And a section of highway 25 was closed to traffic for a time in St-Esprit, in the Lanaudière region, because of a high number of cars veering off the road.
