Montreal police homicide investigators are looking into the 7th murder of the year. 

A woman in her 30's was found badly injured inside an apartment on Papineau near Villeray at around 2:30am.

She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A man in his 40's, who police say was her spouse, who was inside the apartment when police arrived, has been arrested and remains in custody.

Police say two children were also inside the apartment. They were not injured.
