Cheaper trip to the stars
Canadians dreaming about becoming a space tourist now have another choice.
Space Expedition Corporation and X-Cor Aerospace have signed a deal with Quebec travel agency Uniktour to offer suborbital flights in the Quebec market.
A similar deal is in the works for the rest of the Canadian market.
Uniktour president Philippe Bergeron says the cost of a trip on the X-Cor spaceplane is cheaper than what's being offered by Virgin Galactic.
The price tag with Uniktour is said to be 95-thousand dollars.
A flight on Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo, which will carry six passengers and two pilots, will cost 200-thousand dollars per person.
The X-Cor Lynx will have only one pilot and one space tourist passenger.
