Woman hit by a car dies
A 75-year-old woman is dead after getting hit by a car in Cartierville.
She was crossing Gouin boulevard at Ranger around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
"The vehicle was going westbound on Gouin," said Anie Lemieux with Montreal police. "There are no stop signs or traffic lights for vehicles travelling on Gouin."
Lemieux said it is still too early to say if the driver of the car will face charges - but investigators are ruling out the use of alcohol and speeding for the driver.
A woman in her twenties was also crossing at the same time, she escaped with relatively minor injuries.
This is the 4th road death in the city this year, all so far have involved piedestrians, according to police.
