UPAC investigation expected to lead to arrests soon

We may soon discover the extent of the police investigation in Laval last fall.

UPAC anti-corruption squad raids were carried out at Laval City Hall and the home, condo and bank of former Mayor Gilles Vaillancourt.

Police also raided several engineering and construction firms.

Investigators have ended up with more information than they anticipated.

The Journal de Montreal says because of the overwhelming amount of information they have uncovered , investigators have opted to go slow and be thorough.

The first of more than 40 arrests is expected in April or early May.
