Montreal's snow clearing operation continues

The city of Montreal continues its snow clearing operation.

It says it has a thousand workers and a thousand pieces of equipment out there.

"Our teams are on the road to make sure that the sidewalks and the streets are cleared, but also that abrasives are put on so that nothing is slippery", said Jacques-Alain Lavalée, the city's point man on snow clearing.

Lavalée adds it's too early to talk about snow removal.

The snow and blowing snow led to a slew of delays and cancellations at Trudeau airport on Friday.

Portions of highways, including the 10, 20, 30 and the 15, were closed for a time because of accidents.

A 23-year old woman was killed in a collision on route 112 in Marieville on the south shore.

Why is it too early to thinking about snow removal? the forecast is good for the next few days or do the workers take the weekend off. Last storm, it took 8 days for one side of our street to be cleaned. What is the problem? Taxes went up again and this is what we get?
