The Surete du Quebec has taken the lead in the investigation of the apparent murder of a 56 year old woman in Sainte-Thérèse.

The body was discovered in the woman's apartment on du Domaine Boulevard at around 6:30 last night by a neighbour who had become concerned because she had not seen her friend for several days.

Police are not revealing how the woman died but several reports say she was stabbed to death.

The woman's name has not been made public.
